ABOUT ME

Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.S., M.Pd.
I teach Translation Studies and Academic Writing at English Department, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Semarang State University, Indonesia.

I got bachelor degree of English Language and Literature from Padjadjaran University Bandung, Indonesia), Master’s degree of English Education from Indonesia University of Education, Bandung and Doctoral degree (Applied Linguistics: Translation Studies from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, Indonesia.
My research and interest are in translation studies and textbook writing. I have written some papers on these topics published by local journals and national publishers: Translation: A Way to Get the Knowledge; Introducing West Java Cultural Aspects in English Textbook; Translating a Novel: Problems and Solutions (A Holistically Critique on Novel Translation; Translating Metaphors from English Into Indonesian: Problems and Solutions; Teaching Translation by Using a Cooperative Work Procedure (Journals), English Texts in Use (A Literacy-Based Approach): A Course book for SMA Students; A Communicative English Grammar; English for SMA/MA Students: KTSP-Based Approach; A Handbook for Translators (Textbooks), Analisis Kesalahan Tata Bahasa dan Mekanika Penulisan dalam Karangan Bahasa Inggris; Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif dalam Kelas; Aplikasi Model Siklus Tripartite dalam Proses Penerjemahan Novel untuk Peningkatan Kualitas Hasil  Penerjemahan; Aplikasi “A Cooperative Work Procedure” dalam Pengajaran Translation pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FBS Unnes Semarang; Penerapan Pendekatan Sosiosemiotik dalam Penerjemahan Folklore dari bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Inggris (Research).
